Earlobe Reconstruction Surgery

A quick, effective way to restore the look of the earlobe and allow the patient to wear their favorite ear jewelry once again.

Who should consider earlobe reconstruction?

Torn

Trama to the ear has left earlobes damaged.

Stretched

Large or heavy jewellery can stretch earlobes.

Large or Misshapen

Sometimes earlobes have an undesirable appearance.

What to Expect

Dr. Arlette performs earlobe reconstruction surgery on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.
Incisions are a necessary part of earlobe reconstruction surgery, but care is taken to sew up incisions with tiny sutures so scarring after the procedure is minimal.

    • The procedure typically takes approximately 20 minutes per ear, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done.
    • Most patients return home as soon as the surgery is complete.
    • Dressings will be placed on the earlobes to minimize bruising and swelling and promote healing to the area.

    • Mild discomfort after the procedure is typically managed effectively with over-the-counter pain medication.
    • Scarring will be minimal and most patients will be able to wear ear jewelry again once the lobes heal.
    • Re-piercing the ear is also possible, although Dr. Arlette recommends waiting at least eight weeks after surgery to have that procedure done.
