Frown line & crow’s feet injection treatment in Calgary.
Improve the appearance of frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet around the eyes through BOTOX® cosmetic injections.
Coming in for BOTOX® can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! Simple, effective, and surgery-free, BOTOX® works to smooth out frown lines and brighten the appearance of your face so you can look and feel younger.
As soon as you walk out of our clinic, you’ll notice the immediate results of BOTOX® cosmetic injections, a major benefit of this cosmetic procedure.
Quick & Non-Surgical
Coming in for a BOTOX® treatment typically doesn’t take longer than 15 minutes, which turns the procedure into a quick and easy appointment that’s too easy to pass up.
After receiving BOTOX®, side-effects sometimes include slight bruising and in rare cases, a subtle headache. But, good news! The after effects of BOTOX® usually go away on their own quite quickly.
The earlier you treat skin problems like forehead wrinkles, lines around the mouth, and crow’s feet with BOTOX®, the less likely you’ll develop new wrinkles in the treated area in the future!
How BOTOX® Works
BOTOX® Cosmetic works as a muscle relaxer, blocking signals from certain facial nerves to your muscles which then tightens the skin to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. Each patient receives a customized treatment plan so you’ll receive the best results possible from the treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How does it work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic works as a muscle relaxer, blocking signals from certain facial nerves to your muscles which then tightens the skin to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines. BOTOX® targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet – the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Each patient receives a customized treatment plan so you’ll receive the best results possible from the treatment.
- What can I expect when I receive a BOTOX® injection?
When you’re ready to receive your BOTOX® treatment, the first step is a consultation with an experienced injector that will spend time assessing your needs, areas of concern, safety, risks and any post treatment care that’s required. Our focus is your desired outcome, and our experts will clearly outline options and recommendations in a full treatment plan that’s 100% personalized to your goals. Your treatment plan is designed with your lifestyle, budget and timelines in mind, and includes a facial assessment that provides suggestions on improving your skin complexion and explains how to take care of and maintain your BOTOX® results.
- Is BOTOX® painful?
Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX® feels like they’ve been pinched. We may use ice to numb the treatment area, or if you are concerned about discomfort, we may apply a topical numbing cream before administering the injectable.
- BOTOX® is NOT:
It is NOT a surgical procedure.
It is NOT a filler (a substance that is injected into certain areas of the face to “fill in” wrinkles).
It is NOT permanent.
- How long does it last?
You may begin to notice results immediately or within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months.
- Will it be obvious that I’ve had work done?
BOTOX® is a technique-sensitive treatment. If done properly, you should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy. It is important to talk to us about the results you want from treatment, and we will work together to put a customized treatment plan together.
- What are the side effects or risks associated with BOTOX®?
Three percent of patients experienced eyelid drooping in the frown lines studies.
1% of patients experienced eyelid swelling in the crow’s feet studies.
Other possible side effects include: dry mouth, discomfort or pain at the injection site, tiredness, headache, neck pain, eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight and dry eyes, and allergic reactions.
- How many injections will I receive?
Each treatment plan is customized for our clients and their goals, but typically:
To treat crow’s feet: the 3 areas of muscle that frame the side of the eye will be injected.
To treat frown lines: there are 5 injections into muscles in your forehead.
- Is there downtime or recovery time needed?
Because BOTOX® is not a surgical procedure, after your treatment, you can resume your day. There is minimal downtime and we may give you specific aftercare instructions.
- Can men receive BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?
Yes. BOTOX® has also been clinically evaluated in male patients. In clinical studies for moderate to severe frown lines, 17.5% of patients treated with BOTOX® were men. In the clinical studies for moderate to severe crow’s feet, male patients comprised approximately 12% of patients treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic.
- Will insurance cover this procedure?
Cosmetic procedures are not usually covered by your insurance company. If you have any questions to what your plan covers, it is best to talk with your insurance provider prior to treatment.
- How to choose an injector?
Ready to schedule a consultation? Here are some questions to ask your BOTOX® injector:
Do they have medical expertise in facial anatomy? Are they licensed and trained in a field of aesthetic medicine such as dermatology or cosmetic surgery?
How many years of experience do they have injecting BOTOX®? How often do they treat patients with BOTOX®?
Do they have before and after pictures of patients they’ve treated? Do they schedule a follow up visit after treatment?
Our team of trained and experienced injectors are focused on your safety and satisfaction and work with you on a personalized treatment plan. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
